Our cannabis flower is grown under the Vermont sun, firmly rooted in native Northeast Kingdom soil, using fresh air, water, and locally sourced organic amendments as our only other inputs. We think it is the way cannabis is meant to be grown, and that you can smell and taste the difference. Our strains do not come from somewhere else, and they do not follow trends. You will not find information about most of them on the internet. Our strains are heirloom varieties that are born, bred, and crafted right here in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont (NEK). A cumulative result from the hard work of thousands of generations of growers who came before us, years put in here on our hillside farm, and years put in by the best growers on neighboring hillsides. They have been carefully hunted and selected over many, many growing seasons and honed in specifically for NEK sungrown production. All of this accumulated hard work has resulted in unique and potent strains that will fully ripen in our short growing season, and are now finally available to anyone in Vermont over the age of 21 at locally-owned independent retailers across the state!

NEW STRAINS FROM 2024:
4WAY AFGHANI
Top Terpenes:
This is our small test batch of a new cross we've been calling 4way Afghani. Using some of the same pollen we used to make our Afghani seeds, we pollinated a 4way cut that was traded for a couple of seasons ago with our friend @forevergrateful86. This cut showed such impressive disease resistance, vigorous growth, and sturdy structure that we had to make seed with her. The goal this summer was to test these seeds out in a small batch and see how they did here on our NEK hillside. We were hoping to see a combination of the Afghani terps, and the 4way hardiness. This lot is a combination of the resulting phenos from this small batch, most of which leaned heavily 4way. They all showed the vigor of their mother and grew to be the biggest plants started from seed this year, with seemingly high resistance to the dreaded leaf spots. The buds resemble a combination of the 4way and Afghani, both of which are pretty greasy and old school, and there is both earthy and sweet aromas. If you try some please let us know what you think by dropping us a comment at the bottom of the page! We hope to bring back what was our favorite of these phenos to grow from cuts for next season.
GMO BERRY
Top Terpenes:
The GMO Berry originates from a very small handful of seeds created by a friend who is also a longtime, trusted NEK grower. He traded us a pack of seeds a few years ago, handing us what he called "GMO Berry", a cross he made between GMO and Sherpa's Bad Berry. Out of what were only 4 females of the 8 or 9 total seeds, one of them in particular displayed impressive disease resistance and a high tolerance for rain and frost. In addition to these favorable cultivation traits, it also grew dark purple and extremely resinous buds which we thought y'all may like as well. We pollinated this pheno with a fourth generation backcrossed Pineapple Cream male to create seeds for this year's crop. We grew 47 of these seedlings as part of our tier 1 crop this year, which we have still been calling "GMO Berry". This is a pheno hunt batch, with no two plants being exactly the same. Our hope was that we would find a new pheno that captured the best traits of both parents; the infamous Pineapple Cream nose, and the disease resistance, appearance, and bud structure of the GMO Berry. The hunt was a success, and all of these plants inherited at least some favorable traits from their parents. In this lot you will find interesting buds with a combined nose of citrusy sweetness from the Pineapple Cream and ammonia earthiness from the GMO Berry. They are generally sticky and frosty with varying shades of purple and green. Two of what were the best of the best are currently growing in our offgrid winter stable waiting to go back outside so we can hopefully bring them back to market next year.
Returning Favorites:
OP KUSH
Top Terpenes:
Not to be confused with the popular "OG Kush" the OP Kush is a unique strain born and bred right here on the farm. OP Kush is a cross between headband seed introduced from California, and Sherpa's Pigpen from right here in the NEK. The headband mom used to make this cross had very dense, frosty, and potent flowers. Its only drawback was that it just never quite finished on time for a photoperiod run of sungrown in the NEK. Despite this flaw, it was still popular enough to gain attention as the 2nd place finisher in the first ever Headies Cup in 2018 in the sungrown category. In an effort to improve the strain for NEK sungrown production, we dusted a killer mom with some early flowering Pigpen pollen, grew out and hunted the seeds, and selected this pheno because it yielded what we were looking for: dense, frosty, and potent nugs from its mom, and early photoperiod flowering from its dad. The OP Kush produces our densest, frostiest nugs that most commonly would be confused as "indoor" back in the day. Lime green in color and loaded with thricomes, the dominant nose is nutmeg and cashew with hints of pine, it has an old school smell that lingers. The OP Kush is our most dense, frosty, and potent strain. It is the result of one of our first successful sungrown breeding projects going back several years ago, and we hope to keep it around for years to come.
PUDDING HILL CHEESE
Top Terpenes:
Born on the northeastern slope of Pudding Hill, using parents selected from longtime NEK growers, this pheno was hunted and selected on the farm for its pungent nose and early flowering traits. It has a unique terpene profile and blend of cannabinoids you will not find in any other flower.
PINEAPPLE CREAM
Top Terpenes:
This heavy yielding, uniquely stinky cultivar, was bred by master grower Nick at Forbins Finest and is an all around sungrown winner. We were fortunate enough to get a cut of this directly from Nick at the first ever Vermontijuana seed swap in 2021. We gave it a test run that year under the sun on our side of the hill, and it did not disappoint. It is a trimmers dream with large, uniform buds that have an aroma so strong you may not want to stick your nose straight into the jar. It grows tall with strong, evenly spaced branches allowing each terminal bud to get good sun and really max out on its potentital. It has perhaps the most unique terpene profile we have ever seen, with large amounts of many different common and uncommon terpenes, which give this cut its unique and in your face nose. Expect a slightly energizing effect, uncommon for VT sungrown. We think this cultivar is the perfect companion for daytime and keeping you on task, but with such a wide variety of terps you will just have to try some for yourself, and we think you will be glad you did!
AFGHANI
Top Terpenes:
This popular sungrown cultivar has been grown in the hills of the NEK for decades and kept alive by legacy growers despite facing years of hardship under draconian government prohibition. It may have originally come from the mountains of Afghanistan, a region that has been cultivating cannabis for thousands of years, however that history has been lost to us at this point in time. We came across this cut at the first ever Vermontijuana seed swap where we met Nick from Forbins Finest for the first time. Nick had this cut available for trade, and having heard of it, but never grown it, we just had to give it a try on our side of the hill. It turned out to be a tough one to grow, and generally yields less per plant than our other strains, but due to its unique cannabinoid and terpene profiles, and popularity on the market with consumers, it is a winner nonetheless. This season we grew our Afghani crop using seed we have been developing here on the farm ever since first gaining the cut from Nick in an effort to back it up. The seeds were born from the original cut which was pollinated with a 4th generation backcrossed Afghani male. The resulting seedlings yielded impressively uniform plants that tested even higher in cannabinoids and terpenes than their mother which the original! Many people have reached out to tell us that the Afghani is their favorite, and provides the most benefit for them medicinally of any of our strains. Find it at retailers before its gone to try it for yourself!
